Dr. Bettina Wittneben is a dynamic scholar with 25+ years of experience at the intersection of international strategy, climate policy, and organisational change. She holds a faculty position in Management at Oxford University, and is an Associate Fellow of Pembroke College, Oxford, and a Teaching Associate at the School of Geography and the Environment, University of Oxford.
Globally recognised for research published in Financial Times 50 journals, with a proven track record in securing research funding, leading interdisciplinary teams, and delivering innovative teaching across undergraduate, MBA, EMBA, and executive programmes.
Before joining the School, Bettina was Principal at AFRY Management Consulting, leading the Sustainability Service Offering for the UK/Ireland. She has also served as Director of the Oxford DPhil in Environmental Research and as a faculty member at the Rotterdam School of Management.
Bettina holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge's Judge Business School, a dual MBA from the University of Alberta and Grenoble School of Management, as well as the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning from the University of Oxford. She received the Best Paper Award from the Academy of Management Journal. Bettina advises government and industry clients on the energy transition.
